Federal Republican Broadcasting Service
Goals
Overview
A broadcast network setup by the federal republic using the communication network established by the republic to send secure and non-secure messages across space. To finance the construction of the network for official and military use, the republic granted concessions to broadcasters to transmit across the network for set fees. These transmissions can be network wide or limited to regional areas. Fees are determined by the distance and area covered.
Local planetary broadcasts are governed by the local planetary laws, this network only regulates cross space fast transit. The network uses a series of direct beam transmissions that transmit signals from beacon to beacon in both normal and hyperspace. Speed of the transmission is limited by the speed of light, so these signals often take weeks to the outer rim of human civilization.
Broadcasters will pay the FRBS to transmit content. This content then is received by local factors licensed and authorized to then transmit this data. Some of these can be multi system groups, while others can be a small company operation on a lonely spacestation.
