Overview

An optical implant replacing Pia Kadyrov’s left eye, capable of recording up to six hours of video from her own point of view. It passes for a normal human eye by sight; any scan picks it out immediately.

For a reporter working alone on a station where the official cameras go dark whenever something matters, it is her real equipment — a recorder that cannot be confiscated at a door or switched off from a security office.

Shackleton Magellan’s sweep of the Thides Cast Studio detected it, along with a camera at her door and several drone cameras on her shelves. Which means everything the crew said in that room, and everything Six did with his hand on his axe, was potentially recorded from her point of view.
