Wu Medical Board - Notice of Erasure (Lavey) Draft
An in-world prop from Rock Lavey’s background. The Provincial Medical Board’s strike-off notice. What he was, in the language of the people who ended it. The cold twin to the recovery bulletin: one is the claim ticket, this is the verdict it rests on.

PROVINCIAL MEDICAL BOARD OF WU
OFFICE OF REGISTRATION & CONDUCT

NOTICE OF ERASURE FROM THE REGISTER
Ref: PMB/CONDUCT/LAVEY Status: FINAL
──────────────────────────────────────────────
REGISTRANT ... LAVEY. Trauma & Emergency Surgery.
Standing: SENIOR. Prior record: clean,
and better than clean. Cited twice for
work no one else would attempt.
FINDING
Death of a patient in the registrant's direct
care. A material sign was present and was not
acted upon in time. The Board finds the registrant
competent, unimpaired, and responsible. This is
the hardest kind of finding we enter. It is not
a finding of a bad doctor. It is a finding that a
good one, on this occasion, was the one holding
the chart, and the patient died.
DETERMINATION
Registration ERASED. The registrant may not
practise, prescribe, hold, or represent himself
under any medical title in this jurisdiction or
any that honours our register.
The title is withdrawn. The skill is not ours to
withdraw and we make no comment on it.
NOTE FOR THE RECORD
The patient was a minor. The patient shared the
registrant's surname. The Board declines to say
more, and asks that those who read this decline
also. A man does not need reminding of the one
chart he will read for the rest of his life.

Erasure is a matter of public record.
The rest of it is not.
