The Chae-gul 147 Breakaway
Outcome: The crew unloaded black ice at Chae-gul 147 ahead of inspection, Six told the security chief why, and the supply officer was arrested. The crew cut The Albatross free of the dock and jumped for the Dinon system unpaid, with a 500-credit fine and warrant behind them.
Participants
- Six — gave Fabian away, cut the docking locks, destroyed the beacon
- Ronin Sanchez — flew the ship clear
- Shackleton Magellan — caught the beacon on sensors; plotted the blind jump
- Rock Lavey — unloaded with the crew
- Marlo Petrak — moved the crates with Six
- Blaise Fabian — hurried the cargo onto the conveyor; arrested
- Eliise Hawkins — arrested Fabian and ordered the crew to stay put
What Happened
- The Albatross docked at bay seven of Chae-gul 147. Blaise Fabian, the chief supply officer, told the crew to put everything on the conveyor belt before security came. Six and Marlo Petrak moved the crates fast.
- Eliise Hawkins, the security chief, arrived as they finished and asked why nothing had waited for her inspection. Six answered, “Blaise told us to move it all before security showed up.”
- Hawkins arrested Fabian, marched him to the warehouse and ordered the crew to stay put. Shackleton Magellan gave it half an hour before she found the black ice and came back for them.
- Nobody had been paid. Six went out into vacuum and cut the two docking locks with the vibro-axe while the station flooded the ship with communication requests. Ronin Sanchez pulled the ship away.
- A stealth beacon latched onto the hull. Shackleton’s sensors caught it and Six went back out and stabbed its electronics.
- Interceptors followed, six hours behind. The crew plotted a blind jump to the outer edge of the Dinon System and made it by a single point.
- In the jump the news carried a 500-credit warrant for the damage to the docking bay and no word of smuggling. It doubles as a fine the crew can pay off.
- The ship came out at the rim and flew in to Dinon I.
Why It Matters
The delivery was made and the fee was lost. A man inside the station is under arrest for the shipment, the company that runs the platform wants the crew for its docking bay and is silent about the drugs, and the people who arranged the run have reason to be angry.
