- Ronin Sanchez — stopped the Channel 7 cameraman's drone
- Marlo Petrak — asked Harrelson for authorisation
- Paul Harrelson — ordered the crew to stand down
- The Hotel Sniper — left the room by the door and disappeared
- Megan — live broadcast from the plaza; her cameraman's drone was stopped
What Happened
- During the crew’s patrol of the Meridian Esplanade, Six spotted a figure in shadow in a hotel room overlooking the plaza, standing back from the balcony with something held to their face. He pinged the location to the whole crew.
- Ronin Sanchez stopped the Channel 7 News cameraman’s drone, which was angling to film Six’s shooting position.
- Shackleton Magellan sent his nanomachines up through the rain into the room. They found a long-range scoped rifle on a bipod on the bed, a surveillance device, and a laptop with an alarm flashing silently.
- The figure moved for the door. Six braced his Grazer Rifle with the shot calculated through the reinforced concrete wall, and waited for the order.
- Marlo Petrak asked Paul Harrelson for authorisation. The answer was to stand down.
- Six answered over the comms, flat and even: “Mission incomplete.” He did not fire.
- The figure walked out of the room and disappeared.
Why It Matters
An armed shooter with a nest over the Zenith venue is loose. The crew obeyed the chain of command because of the liability terms in the Apice Security Contract, which make anything done without explicit direction their own legal responsibility.
