Origin: Planted by the Kinetic Logistics ambush team in the Shipping and Receiving Sector

Overview

A small, unremarkable box with a solid red light and a short antenna, fixed to the underside of a conveyor belt at a badly lit intersection in the Shipping and Receiving Sector and wired to a thin tripwire strung across the corridor at knee height.

It is a signalling device rather than an explosive one: it tells someone the crew have arrived. That detail is the tell — the ambush was staged for a specific patrol arriving at a specific place, with the trigger positioned to start the sequence rather than to end it.

Six spotted the wire before anyone walked into it; Shackleton Magellan traced it back to the box. Moments later their communications were jammed and the gas came down the corridor.
