The Montgomery

Current Holder: n/a — federal fleet vessel, Eris System traffic lanes

Origin: Federal Republican Interstellar Fleet

Overview

A Federal Republican Interstellar Fleet ship working the Eris System traffic lanes. The Montgomery pinged The Albatross on its approach to Eris III and requested identification — at which point the crew’s transponder was off. Shackleton Magellan activated it fast, the Montgomery accepted the response without incident, and it politely instructed the crew to submit for a transponder inspection upon arrival. The crew agreed, with no intention of following through.

That skipped inspection is the ship’s live relevance: a federal vessel now has the Albatross’s approach on record, an inspection order on file, and no inspection logged.
