Concord Station Draft

Meridian's great orbital port, riding The Concord Gate among Son's moons — and the deliberate inverse of Thides Station.

Overview

Meridian’s great orbital port, riding The Concord Gate among Son’s moons — and the deliberate inverse of Thides Station. Where Thides is a lawless boomtown of rust and faded grandeur, Concord Station is gleaming corporate order under total surveillance: spotless concourses, polite enforcement, Castellan Biodynamics “Better People.” billboards on every deck, and a biometric checkpoint nobody passes unscanned. Everyone here is tracked, taxed, and accounted for — nobody “skips town.” Beneath the gleam, an unseen underclass of asset and indenture labor keeps it that way.

It is the public face of the Concord: customs, jump-tax, drydocks, trade. The real ugliness — the asset freight, the deniable Republic purchases — never comes through here. That moves through the quiet Charter Gate, out in the dark. Concord Station is clean because the dirt has somewhere else to go.

Points of Interest

The Biometric Checkpoint (the panopticon — every traveler scanned, logged, matched); the Concourse (trade, retail, relentless branding); the drydocks & cargo control (jump-tax and manifests); the corporate decks (charter-house suites and Castellan’s port office); Concord Enforcement HQ (polite, total); and the underdecks, where the asset and indenture labor that keeps the port spotless lives out of sight.
