MacMillian Station IV
Overview
The only remaining station owned by the MacMillian Mining and Extraction Corporation from their once mighty fleet of operations. It’s located in the Thides system, and continues to operate along with their operations in the system. The station has seen better times, but it still general operational. The station contains:
- Landing hangers for smaller ships
- Docking hookups for large ships
- Services for ships (repair and fueling)
- Entertainment district
- Processing/Shipping factory for mining operations in the system
- Re-supply options for subcontractor and wildcatters working in this system
- Residences for station staff and visitors
- Security offices for the company
- Fed marshal office
As the crew observed on arrival, the station is laid out in four levels — the public entertainment and hotel district up top, station personnel below it, the cargo and warehouse level beneath that, and the processing units at the bottom, of which only units 3 and 4 still run. Security was running at roughly half strength: 52 personnel against a required 106.
Points of Interest
Appearances
- Session 1 (Session 01 - The Ragged Edge of Space) — The crew — Rock Lavey, Shackleton Magellan, Six, and the late-arriving Ronin Sanchez — reported here to take up MacMillian security posts. Rock and Shack thawed from cryostasis in the Docking Ring passenger terminal; Six smuggled himself in as cargo on the corporate cargo level. Induction ran through Solveig Kaufer’s formal orientation and Chief Holger Graeme’s blunter next-morning briefing, and the crew pulled their first shift screening arrivals at Security Gate 1.
- Session 4 (Session 04 - The Case of the Missing Courtesan) — The whole session played out aboard. The crew returned from Thides III to a quarantined ship, 24 hours of R&R, and a missing-persons case that walked them from the Entertainment District into the Royale Hotel, the Thides Cast Studio, and the Marshal’s Office — and finally into an armed ambush on the cargo level (Shipping and Receiving Sector). Three things about the station are now established in play: Kinetic Logistics can put armed teams and comms jamming aboard it; its reporting chain routes everything through the station manager rather than the Marshal Service; and the station manager himself, Wilton Agramunt, is missing.
Session 2 — The MacMillian Anomaly
Weeks of TAC-team patrol duty here culminated in the Processing II anomaly and what the crew themselves read as a possible first-contact cover-up. See Session 02 - The MacMillian Anomaly.
- Session 5 (Session 05 - Hostile Takeover) — The station changed hands. The session opens in the maintenance corridors with the ambush aftermath and moves through the security offices, two days of Entertainment District patrol, The Silk Abbey, the Marshal’s Office and Docking Bay 8. It returns to a coup already complete: Wilton Agramunt dead in his private residence, Solveig Kaufer announcing over station-wide comms that MacMillian had been acquired by Pratrock Dynamics, and Kinetic Logistics drop ships attaching to the hull — the station registering physical tremors as they locked on. By session’s end the station is under total lockdown: Holger Graeme and his security team locked inside their own office (cut free by Six), the jump gate controlled by the invaders, all ships grounded, armoured troops holding the corridors, and two transports plus eight-plus fighters in orbit. The crew left through Docking Bay 36 under fire, severing the umbilical, and out of the system entirely via a vortex torn open by the alien cube.
