Aequorea victoria

Overview

A gigantic species of bioluminescence jellyfish on Katha V, they are prized for harvesting a product used in the making of high-end clothing. Considered a rare find, and difficult catch even with modern technology, a single capture specimen can bring in upwards of ten-thousand credits.

What the PCs Know

The bioluminescent jellyfish of Katha V, the basis of the planet’s industry. They rise after dark in blues, reds, greens and purples, some as small as a hand and some as big as vehicles. The fleets of Furosuto Supaia harvest them, and the starport cranes haul the glowing catch into steaming pits.

The deckhands of Big Willie’s Jellyfish Adventure say the giant ones are omnivores, that chum made from other jellyfish draws them to the surface, and that on other boats they have eaten tourists.
