The Katha Lockdown
Outcome: The Federal Republic closed the Katha system for forty-eight hours while marshals hunted a missing entertainment star. A bounty hunter flew her off Katha V, and the blockade lifted with a mandatory search of ships leaving through the gates.

What Happened
- The Albatross came out of its blind jump into the Katha System to find ships loitering at the gate from Peric, and then a military alert on the system broadcasts: the Federal Republic of Worlds had closed the system for forty-eight hours, nothing in or out, no reason given.
- The crew diverted to Katha V and landed at Furosuto Supaia Spaceport. The terminal’s rumours named a terrorist threat, a hunt for someone important, and a hunt for smugglers. A butler from the liner Odysseus told Shackleton Magellan that federal marshals had asked for the ship’s manifest and wanted one particular person.
- Near one in the morning station security walked tripod scanners along the hull of every ship on the field.
- Hasib Eberhardt had the Albatross searched, found nothing, and showed Rock Lavey and Shackleton a hologram of a missing entertainment star with a reward on her return.
- Rock found Adelina Feliciano in the group photograph Six sent back from Big Willie’s Jellyfish Adventure. Shackleton phoned the tip in under his own name, and a sergeant took the picture and searched the excursion boat for nothing.
- At the dock face scan Six saw a hooded woman change her face with a tap and walk through, and later told the crew. The Armored Bounty Hunter took her from there, cuffed, in a Good Fortune jeep, and flew her out in his starfighter.
- Soon afterward the Republic lifted the blockade and added a mandatory search of every ship leaving the system through a gate.
Why It Matters
The starport and its marshal have the crew and their ship on record, a sergeant holds a recorded call with Shackleton’s name on it, and the crew watched a bounty worth a substantial reward leave the planet in someone else’s hands.
